Next-Gen Hyundai Creta Launch Next Year – 10 Things To Know – GaadiWaadi.com

Next-Gen 2020 Hyundai Creta

The second generation Hyundai Creta will likely be offered in both five- and seven-seater options with an overhauled exterior and interior

Hyundai introduced the Creta in the domestic market nearly four years ago and it has been one of the most successful vehicles ever from the brand in recent times. Averaging well over 10,000 units monthly, the Creta has been the backbone of the brand’s SUV sales and has always found itself as the second best-selling SUV in India every month.

The Creta has only received few minor cosmetic updates while no major updates have taken place under the hood since its launch. That said, Hyundai has already started working on the next generation Creta and will most probably grace the Indian soil by the end of 2020 or in early 2021.

Here is the list of 10 things which you should know about the next generation Hyundai Creta SUV:

1. All-New Platform

The next-gen Creta will be underpinned by a new platform and could share underpinning with the Kia SP concept-based production model going on sale later this year after making a debut next month.

This new platform is basically a reworked version of the current Creta platform. As a result of the new platform, you can expect the new generation Creta to be a better handler in every sense and the dimensions will be bigger as well allowing for more interior space.

2. Updated Engine Lineup

Although not many details about the powertrain are available at this moment the new generation Creta could be powered by a new set of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel drivetrains from SP2i or the existing engines could be carried forward with BSVI compliance.

3. New Engines Could Be Made By Kia

The next generation Creta could get a new diesel and petrol engine produced by Kia at their facility in Andhra Pradesh.

4. Seven-Seat Option

This will definitely be the biggest surprise that Hyundai will have in store for their fans. The next generation Creta will be offered with both 5 seats as well a seven-seat configuration. The 5 seat option SUV will compete against Tata Harrier and Nissan Kicks while the 7 seater Creta will compete directly against Tata H7X, Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson.

5. Bigger Proprtions

We can definitely expect the next generation Hyundai Creta SUV to be slightly bigger in dimension than the current SUV. This will help Hyundai to generate some more room inside the cabin as the competition has grown offering more practicality.

6. New Global Design

Coming to the styling, the next generation Creta will adopt Hyundai’s new evolving design philosophy. This kind of design language can also be seen on some other Hyundai’s SUV like Kona with split headlamp setup.

As far as its styling is concerned, the new Creta SUV will likely adopt a narrower Led headlamp, stylish hexagonal grille which will definitely grow larger in size than the current variant, slightly bigger fog lamp enclosure. These will be some of the major styling highlights of the new SUV as it will resemble the iX25 revealed recently in China.

7. More Premium On The Inside

Just like the exterior expect the interior too to get some major updates. It will most probably feature an all-new dashboard design and will get the long list of features including a new and improved infotainment system with a bigger display, panoramic sunroof, height adjustable driver seats etc.

8. Increased Safety Features

The SUV will also be loaded with plenty of safety features as well including a total of 6 airbags for the top end variant, ABS and EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control,  etc.

9. More Practicality

The next generation Creta too will have a practical boot space like the current generation SUV. The current generation SUV offers an impressive 400 litres of boot space with the 60:40 split seat option which can also be increased further as well. Expect the next generation SUV to also roomier boot in the 5 seat option while the seven-seat variant will definitely get a reduced boot space.
